How far along: Big Baby D is now 38 weeks developed. Holy night, where has the time gone?!
Baby D's Gains: Baby D has "really plumped up" according to babycenter.com. S/he is now up to 6 and half pounds and is approximately 19.5 inches in length. What veggie is Baby D compared to this week? A leek! Baby D is fully ready for life outside of my body, whenever s/he wants to do that...
Total weight gain: Guess we aren't stopping at 30... 2 pound week this week! Up 32 pounds!
Stretch marks: Negative.
Belly Button: I don't think it can stretch anymore.
Movement: Getting quite painful. And impossible to sleep when occurring.
Exercise: Biking, walking and some pilates. I've been doing some stretches I learned at baby class on our exercise ball too. That helps to ease some of my pain sometimes!
Biggest Pains: My doc says the baby's head is outrageously low. This causes sharp pains when Baby D kicks his/her feet, cuz it pushes the head even further down. It also hurts when Baby D moves his/her hands and head around. It can be overwhelming at times, but usually is only super painful when I'm walking. On the flip side, this baby doesn't have far to go before his/her head will be out of me. :)
Our Preparations: We are ready. I think. I guess I'll know when we bring Baby D home whether we have everything we need! Mike keeps asking every day if the baby can come today. He is very anxious to meet him/her! I'm still working on finalizing some of my sub plans at work, so I could use a couple more days to get those done!
Miscellaneous Happenings: Mike had a dream Baby D was born (I told you he is anxious!). In his dream, Baby D was a girl! :) Who knows... I had to attend a meeting this week during my 1st hour class. My students were freaked out because they thought Baby D must have arrived if I wasn't at school. Nope... False alarm! :) Baby D is still tucked safely inside me!
Pregnancy Essentials:
*Marshmallows (I've eaten multiple bags of those in the last few months)
*Pillows (I sleep with 7)
*Ice water (I drink more now than I did when I ran 40-50 miles a week)
*My husband (I don't know how people are pregnant alone-I couldn't do it)
Next Time:
*I will shop for comfy dresses at Target. Getting dressed without feeling like a whale has been difficult the last few weeks...
*I will buy a second belly band. My neutral colored one just doesn't work with dark clothes...
*I will buy some shirts that tie on the bottoms.
