How far along: I can't believe we are 30 weeks along already! Baby D has only a few short weeks left in there. People have started asking me if I'm excited to have the baby out. Although I'm sure it will be a relief, I think I might miss this chunky belly! :)
Baby D's Gains: Baby D weighs in at about 3 pounds this week and is nearly 16 inches in length. He/she is compared to a head of cabbage! Baby D's eyesight is continuing to develop, but even after birth, he/she will keep their eyes closed most of the time. Did you know that a newborn has 20/400 vision? So, chances are, they aren't seeing anything that isn't inches from their face... The amniotic fluid that surrounds Baby D will also be starting to diminish at this point, as Baby D needs more space in my uterus. I think this might already be the case, as things seem pretty squished together in there these days...
Total weight gain: Uh... Another disappointing week. I've had several teachers at school tell me about their total weight gains of 60-70 pounds. I'm still at 19. I gained nothing AGAIN this week. Mike says I need to eat more. It's hard though because my tummy is very squished. I can feel my food in my throat for like an hour after I eat. Yuck. Also, since the amniotic fluid is decreasing, that could be the cause, right?
Stretch Marks: Not present. Using lots of lotion!
Movement: I can tell Baby D is feeling crammed in there because I can see nearly every movement now. There are little elbows or knees or feet or hands or a head squirming somewhere almost all the time. I'm waiting for the day some kid in class tells me my belly is moving. It still grosses me out when Baby D pushes out on me for what feels like forever before deciding to retract that part of his/her body. When I roll over in the night, it wakes Baby D up and then it is very hard for me to fall back asleep with all the movement as he/she tries to get comfy again. Baby D's hiccups have been very regular this week also. At least I know the child is alive in there! Sometimes I fear he/she may be having a seizure with all the craziness taking place...
Belly Button: Sticking out more and more. I don't even care if people can see it through my shirt anymore. I still don't like Baby D moving right behind it though.

Exercise: Jogging! I even had 2 boys yell at me this week. Apparently being 30 weeks pregnant doesn't stop the yelling. Maybe when I'm pushing a stroller it will...
Biggest Pains: Sleep. I'd love to lay on my belly. Maybe someday again. I'd also love to be able to sleep all night without having to awaken and exert all of my energy to roll over and replace all of my pillows in their correct locations. The nice thing is that Mike and I gave up tv for lent. So we go to bed earlier because there is nothing else to do!
Our Preparations: We have been working diligently on the weekends to get Baby D's room all ready. It is nearly there, we just need the crib. Mike was going to pick it up today, but it has been rainy all day, so he did not. I'm bummed because I feel like that's really the main thing that will make the room look fit for a baby! We also have a scheduled baby shower at church! March 25-yay! Over Spring break (a couple more weeks!!) we will get the big necessities that we have to have if Baby D were to come. These include a car seat (did you know they won't let you leave the hospital without one?), the pack and play with bassinet since that is where Baby D will sleep for a while and some diapers! :)
Thanks for reading up on Baby D! We are ALMOST there! :)
