How far along: Baby D is 35 weeks developed!
Baby D's Gains: According to Babycenter.com, Baby D now has fully developed kidneys and a liver that can dispose of waste! She/he is somewhere around 5.25 pounds (compared to the size of a honeydew melon) and is around 18 inches in length!
Total weight gain: It was a big 3 pound week on the scale for me! This makes my total weight gain 28 pounds! People keep telling me I won't gain much more... But I'm starting to get a little nervous! (What can I say? I love the Easter candy...) Luckily, Mike gained a pound this week too, so I'm still 9 away from him...
Stretch Marks: Negative.
Belly Button: Still there, still sad looking. We have nicknamed it "the cyclops". It withstood an injury this week as I underestimated the size of my stomach while getting into the shower.
Movement: Lots of movement still. I can feel just about everything now, even if it's just a tiny movement. There are still some very big ones. I think Baby D likes to bend and straighten his/her legs A LOT. Chewing ice and drinking ice water still make Baby D move the most. And they still give Baby D the hiccups too!
Exercise: I started two new forms of exercise this week-Prenatal Pilates and biking! Pilates cracks me up, I've never really been into work out videos. But, it is good core strengthening! Biking went remarkably well! I will continue both of these!
Biggest Pains: I'm really getting annoyed at how often I drop things. Mainly because I have to bend over to pick them up and it's so difficult!
Our Preparations: Thank you cards have been completed from the baby shower! If you haven't gotten yours, it's because I (or Mike) didn't see you at church or we haven't gotten it in the mail yet! Also, we made a list of the things we have yet to get and are planning to get those things next week! We also officially have our boy and girl take home outfits. Looking at them makes me want one of each! :) It took us forever to find a boy outfit we liked. Girls clothes are so much cuter!
Miscellaneous Happenings: It is state assessment week, which has me quite stressed out. My most recent strange dream involved my students finding the surface area of a baby onesie. (Yes, pi was involved.) Also, on our date Friday night, Mike and I had two people make pregnancy comments to us. One lady told me I was "so cute pregnant cuz just my belly was big". And a guy carrying a very small baby told Mike to "sleep while you can!". :) On the "is it a boy or a girl?" front, the male teacher on my team informed me that it is indeed a girl. Apparently he can tell by the way it is "out front" and "high". So, we shall see in just a few short weeks!
Only 2 weeks til Baby D is considered "full term"! Yikes!
