Well, to change some things up, I've decided to do a little less narrative writing and more of a list of interesting facts or questions as we go along... Here are some things I found on other blogs that people must have found interesting!
How far along: 26 weeks-although the doctor measured at over 27 weeks-still measuring big! Baby D is about the length of a small pineapple.
Baby D's Gains: Her/his ears are becoming more and more developed and she/he is now able to hear conversations I have with others. Baby D now weighs in at about a pound and two-thirds and is 14 inches long or so. If Baby D is a boy, his boy parts are finalizing too... I've been looking at the old wives tales for whether you are having a boy or a girl. I think I follow more of the girl ones than the boy ones, but only time will tell for sure! At our appointment yesterday, Baby D's heart rate was steady in the 150s still!
Total weight gain: 16 pounds - just one pound this week!
Stretch Marks: None yet, though I can feel my skin stretching when I walk or run, so it may not be far out!
Movement: Baby D is still a moving machine. He/she kicked the doppler at our appointment yesterday. I think it startled all of us! I can feel kicking and squirming and maybe rolling over even!
Belly Button: Flat except for when I cough or flex my 6-pack. Then it pops out!
Exercise: Running is still going remarkably well. My legs were burning this week while running. I blame that on the excess weight. The bladder is actually feeling better when I run! I will say, I think my runs may be more of a shuffle than a run... Definitely not breaking any speed barriers...
Biggest Pains: Dressing myself. I've never really been very worried about what I wear, but suddenly everything seems to be making me look huge! Oh and rib pain. That's been super annoying. The doc said that's normal. It's also getting harder to sit up from a laying position. It's like I have no abdominal muscles anymore!
Strange Happenings: As my stomach protrudes more and more, it seems to brush into more and more things. Today, it had an incident with a student's head. (The student decided to lean back in her chair at an inopportune time.) While I didn't have any qualms about the incident, the student is mortified that she has somehow damaged the child within me. I let her know I'd be blaming her for any sort of mental damage. :) She knew I was joking of course. If Baby D can withstand my 45 pound "lap" dog, he/she can take anything!
Our doctor appointments now become remarkably close together. I see the doctor every two weeks for the next ten weeks! Talk about doctor overload! At my next appointment, I get blood drawn to test for gestational diabetes, so that will be awful, as usual! Pray that I don't pass out!
Thanks for reading up on the latest news with the baby! Have a wonderful week!
