Well, we have made it to week 40! The only real update is that Baby D does not wish to come out and play yet. S/he is quite content to stay inside of me. When I go to babycenter.com, it says Baby D is a newborn. WRONG. It states that Baby D is about the size of a pumpkin. (or a newborn)
I have been off work now for an entire week. I'm starting to get quite bored! I've been in a lot more pain in the last week than before though, so it is probably a good thing that I'm not at work. To keep myself busy, I've cleaned, worked on a puzzle, gone for lots of walks, gotten a pedicure and cooked a whole bunch of food to freeze. I can feed an entire army now. I've also stayed very up to date on my work email. It's hard not being there because I want to know what's going on! I no longer sleep much. I'm up every 1.5 to 2 hours usually either because of contractions, leg cramps, or urination purposes. I wake up very early (this morning 5:00) without the ability to go back to sleep. I guess this is nature's way of preparing me for a hungry baby. I honestly feel pretty good. Which is kind of unfortunate. I think if I felt miserable, I'd be more likely to be close to labor... The biggest complaint I have right now is that I have developed a rash on my stomach and it ITCHES SO BAD. I can't resist the urge to scratch it, which only makes it blister and scab. I've been putting some anti-itch cream on it, but it doesn't seem to be doing much. I guess it's caused by hormones and should go away after Baby D is born. Whenever that's going to be!
I gained no weight again this week, staying at plus 32. It is my last week (I get induced if Baby D doesn't come in 5 days), so that will be my final tally! There is also a new 40 week picture up in the album!
Baby D likes to move A LOT. And because s/he is so big, it really has started hurting badly! My uterus is clearly no longer large enough for Baby D to move as freely as s/he wants to. There's plenty of room to move freely out here!!! PLEASE COME OUT!
I was asked this week if I was having twins. Nope, I'm just huge. Thanks for noticing! Some people have no idea what the right (and wrong) things to say to a pregnant person are. Everyone is very eager to know when Baby D arrives. I promise, you will all know! Mike has set up some groups in his phone of family and friends, so expect a text message from him about Baby D!
This is the last pre-birth post! I'll post again when Baby D has arrived! (HOPEFULLY SOON!!!)
Thanks for following Baby D's development!
