How far along: We have come 33 whole weeks now! Just 4 short weeks until Baby D is considered "full term"!
Baby D's Gains: Babycenter.com says that Baby D is about 4.25 pounds this week and is compared to the size of a pineapple! He/she is more than 17 inches in length. This week, Baby D made a big gain-he/she flipped over! We are now head down, people, ready to go! Gotta say, things were a LOT more comfortable when Baby D was head up. However, the flipping process is not one that I want to repeat, so let's hope Baby D stays head down...
Total weight gain: It was another two pounder this week, making my total weight gain 24 pounds! I am feeling rather large these days! Baby D's flipping has definitely been causing some stretching of the hip ligaments and I swear clothes that fit one day didn't fit at all the next! We are no longer hair tying the pants. That is just not going to cut it these days. Thankfully the weather is nice, so I can wear skirts!
Stretch Marks: Still not showing up. Though I can see my veins pretty clearly through my increasingly translucent skin!
Belly Button: Sticking out more and more. I've had people comment on my belly button this week (and yes, I had a shirt on), so it must be really starting to show.
Movement: Baby D flipping over was the most uncomfortable movement I've ever felt! I thought the child might be killing me! However, the doctor confirmed the next day that we were now head down, so I guess that was all worth it. Thankfully I was on Spring break and not trying to entertain 7th graders during that process... Now that Baby D is head down, I feel like I have a pretty good guess about what is moving based on where it is located. The stuff in my ribs has to be feet. The stuff in my lower abdomen has to be hands! Still lots of hiccups!
Exercise: I think I went for my last jog of this pregnancy. It was followed by hours of false contractions. I just don't think it's worth all of that. Not to mention, I feel like I get a work out every time I have to stand up, bend over, walk across the room, etc. So, walking the dogs will be nice exercise for the next few weeks!
Biggest Pains: This week, sleep has been interrupted by hunger pains! I'm STARVING every few hours now. However, it takes my food FOREVER to get to the bottom of my stomach. If I eat too close to bed time, I'm burping up my dinner and can't fall asleep cuz it just sits in my throat! So, multiple times this week, I was up between midnight and 3am to eat. And to pee. Baby D is using my bladder as a pillow. So, I pee much more frequently these days!
Our Preparations: We have a car seat! And we have diapers! Both were difficult endeavors. Turns out, car seats are a pain to install. We'd get it all secured in there, just to find that it wasn't level according to the color scheme on the side of it. So, we'd take it back out and change the leveling and it would still be wrong! So, we'd go back to the first one... It was an ordeal. The diapers we wanted were hard to find. The Babies R Us closest to us was sold out, so we had to drive to Independence to the next closest. They only had 1 box left! It's ours! :)
Miscellaneous Happenings: People are starting to get suspicious about whether or not I really know the gender of Baby D and are just not telling people. I swear, I do not know, people! I've had a couple of different people this week say "you really know, don't you!". We do not, but Mike has decided he wants to know on the next one. Apparently he's not into surprises...
Have a good (rainy) week! :)
