Baby D has now reached the 25 week mark. It's hard to believe that I'm that far already! My weekly weigh in attested to another 3 pound week... Making my total 15 pounds! Yikes! The teacher across the hall from me says you get to a point where you actually start losing weight toward the end. We'll see if that REALLY happens. I can now no longer button ANY of my dress pants or jeans. Luckily, a pregnant teacher in my building gave me a tub full of clothes to wear. Between that and what I received from my sister, I should be all set! Week 25 is picture week, so expect to see another baby bump picture in the album on the other page. Mike has night classes all week though, so I'm not sure when we will get around to taking the picture!Baby D is still kicking up a storm. She/he does not like it when I sit still for too long. I start to get sick feeling and my ribs have started to hurt when I'm sitting. I'm very thankful for a job that has me on my feet all day, because I'd be very uncomfortable if I had to sit. Sleeping is also getting a bit awkward. I'm insisting on sleeping with four pillows to help make me more comfortable. I'm not sure there is even room for Mike in the bed anymore. He must just sleep hanging off the side...
According to babycenter.com, Baby D is approximately the size of a small cantaloupe, weighing around a pound and a half and measuring around 13.5 inches long. The survival rate of preemies born at 25 weeks is over 50%! That's incredible! I do not have that on my to do list for this week though, so I think he/she will just be sitting in there for a good 15 more weeks or so! We've been trying to narrow down some name choices this week. It's very hard, especially as a teacher. When I find one I think is good, a few days later I start to have second thoughts about it. Ah! How in the world do you go about naming a child? I mean, someday Baby D is going to want to know how we came up with his/her name. What am I going to say? I looked all over the internet and that one stood out? Yup. Maybe we should just call him/her Baby D for the rest of his/her life...
Well, that's about all on Baby D for this week. May feels like it's a long way away, but when I break it down into weeks, it's not! It's going to be here before we know it!
If any of you can control the weather, Kansas City could really use some SNOW!
:)
