Baby D is now 22 weeks developed! She/he is still very active in my belly and I feel lots of crazy movement in my tum-tum! Baby D also seems to be in a growth spurt. This morning's weekly weigh-in attested to a 3 pound weight gain over the last week. This puts my new total at 8 pounds! Yowsers! My tummy is clearly apparent now. I returned to work today after a glorious Christmas break. Two of the male teachers held a poll of sorts about whether I was pregnant or just had too many Christmas goodies. I found it pretty amusing when word got back to me. I found it even more comical to watch one of them work up the nerve to ask me if I was expecting. Ha! I'm convinced that not making an announcement and just letting people find out one by one was the way to go! Week 22 is also picture week, so check out the latest photos of the ever growing baby bump!
Babycenter.com states that Baby D is approximately the size of a spaghetti squash and weighs in at approximately 1 pound. Last week's doctor's appointment had Baby D a smidge larger than that, so I'm not entirely sure what's accurate on Baby D's size at this point. Did you know that a 22 week fetus actually has a chance at surviving if born? That's crazy to think about. Although my tum-tum feels big, it seems no where near big enough to be housing a baby capable of surviving outside of me. I think I'll keep Baby D brewing for a while...
