Baby D is now 19 weeks developed! My belly is also looking rather developed... My weekly weigh in this morning attested to a 2 pound weight gain in the last week, making my total tally 6 pounds now. I had to laugh at myself yesterday when I went running because my tank top was so tight and my belly was so obvious. I came out of the bedroom giggling and Mike goes "you're laughing at your shape, aren't you". It just looks funny! So far I've still been able to run comfortably (except for the having to pee with every bounce).
Babycenter.com tells me that Baby D has made some serious growth over the last week. He/she is now 8.5 ounces and 6 inches long. Baby D's arms and legs are proportional to the rest of the body and there is now hair sprouting from his/her head! Also, Baby D will be able to hear sounds outside of my body this week, so I'm supposed to start reading and talking and singing to him/her. Hmm... Poor Baby D is going to be exposed to the things that are said in middle school at such a young age! :)
I told the teachers on my team the news today. One of them said "I knew something was up because you've been wearing jackets or puffer vests EVERY day". They all found it amusing since I'm the third on the team to be taking maternity THIS year. I guess the administration should just be happy it's the TEACHERS getting pregnant and not the STUDENTS.
Week 19 is also picture week, so a new belly picture will be emerging on the home page album. We are gearing up to leave for a cruise in just a few short days, so that is where Baby D will be spending week 20! I will have to update when we get back from cruising!
